Dance Domain is disrupting the dance education industry and our studio is growing rapidly. As a DD teacher, you'd be part of a revolution in dance education. We're all about 'dance done different', and we're on the lookout for the perfect new addition/s to our team as we expand our mission to make dance more equitable, accessible and enjoyable for all. If you’re creative, collaborative, and believe that teaching is an activist practice, then we want to hear from you!
ABOUT THE ROLE/S
We're currently looking for teaching experts in the following areas:
- Acro specialist teacher
- Ballet specialist teacher
- generalist Adults teacher (e.g. jazz, tap, ballet and lyrical)
Duties include:
- plan and deliver engaging and educational weekly classes that align with the DD ethos
- prepare end of year showcase routines
- attend termly and yearly training sessions
- implement training concepts and materials into your termly and weekly programming
- occasional cover teaching where possible
ABOUT YOU- you love to dance, but love to teach even more
- you actively challenge stereotypes and taken-for-granted practices in dance to provide accessible, inclusive and enjoyable dance classes that keep kids coming back for more.
- you’re a lifelong learner and are always reflecting upon and revising your teaching practice
- you’re organised and can effortlessly switch between working independently and collaboratively
- you want to work in a progressive company that provides ongoing professional development and prioritises team wellbeing over the grind of hustle culture
- you have a unique and unwavering sense of self that shines through in your teaching and choreography
For your application to be considered, you must:- be at least 18 years old;
- be an Australian resident or have the right to work in Australia;
- have a valid working with children's check (or be able to obtain one); and
- have experience teaching dance to children
